Charles Spencer, the « red sail » for the Palace, has confirmed his separation from Karen Gordon.
With extreme sadness, the 59-year-old half-brother of Princess Diana has revealed his split from his Duchess Karen Gordon, whom he married in 2011.
Charles Spencer , Lady Di’s brother explained:
« I want to dedicate myself to all my children and grandchildren and I wish Karen every happiness for the future. »
Rumor has it that the couple’s marriage went through 40 texts after the confession about the abuse she claims Charles suffered at school. The divorce was announced just days after the death of Karen’s father in Vancouver, Canada where Spencer’s ex is also based.
« My father passed away today after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, » Karen shared on social media, adding:
« I was happy to be there to support my mother and brother who have taken on the brunt of caring for my father here on Vancouver Island. »
The 51-year-old Canadian married Charles in Diana’s ancestral home, Althorp, where Diana is also buried, and lived there since 2011, while she was a couple with Diana’s brother since 2010, when they met in Los Angeles.
The couple have a daughter, Lady Charlotte Diana Spencer, in 2012, while Karen has two more daughters, Emma and Kate from her marriage to Mark Gordon, with whom she was married from 1997 to 2003.

When Charles Spencer heard the news about his sister
« I was in Cape Town with my 4 children, the 5 of us were at home and the phone rang very early in the morning. And then someone from my house in England said ‘Look, I have bad news. It seems your sister and Dodi Fayed were in a car accident in Paris. »
Princess Diana ‘s brother has revealed that the producers of the series Crown approached him and asked him for help filming the Netflix drama, but he refused.
The series may have had a huge fanatical audience, but Charles Spencer was concerned about the extent to which people will consider some inaccuracies in the series as true events.
As he explained, the production team of the series asked him if they could use their paternal home, Althorp House, where Diana grew up, for filming, he categorically refused and of course did not hide his displeasure.
« There is something that worries me. Actually, the crew of The Crown asked me if they could film at Althorp and obviously I said no.
What worries me most is that people watch a program like this and forget that it’s fiction. They assume, especially foreigners, many Americans tell me they watch The Crown like it’s a history lesson. Well, that’s not the case, » said Charles, who always talks about his nephews Harry and William and had sent wishes to Kate Middleton as well.
Charles Spencer had said it was his duty to protect his sister’s legacy:
“I think it’s my duty to support her when I can. When my sister died she left me behind as her sons guardian so I feel she trusted me. And we grew up together, you know if you grow up with someone you’re always that person you knew, no matter how much they change along the way. So I feel I have to honor her memory, » added Princess Diana ‘s brother .
