With a story on Instagram, Kate Middleton showed that she watches her favorite sport intensively.

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton did not appear at her favorite tennis tournament in Britain, Wimbleton after all but wrote a touching message on Instagram for Andy Murray after the tennis ace match in his last match at Wimbledon.

In a rare personal message, Kate, who is being treated for cancer, wrote:

« An incredible #Wimbledon career comes to an end. You should be very proud @andy_murray. On behalf of all of us, thank you! C., » wrote Catherine as her family also calls her.

Murray was due to play in the mixed doubles with Emma Raducanu, however, the player pulled out today with « stiffness » in her wrist.

With Andy and his brother Jamie also not playing in their doubles match on Thursday and his pending withdrawal, the popular tennis player’s career at the popular tennis tournament has come to an end.

The Princess of Wales is used to watching Wimbledon in person, but was unable to make it this year due to cancer treatment. The 42-year-old is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) and traditionally presents the trophy herself to the Wimbledon champion each year.

Kate’s love of tennis dates back to her childhood and she has only missed Wimbledon once – in 2013 when she was pregnant with Prince George and suffered from a super ectopic pregnancy.

Kate told Sue Barker in a 2017 BBC documentary:

“I’ve watched Wimbledon, that was part of growing up. It’s such an essential part of the English summer and I think it really inspires young people. »

Although Kate was unable to attend Wimbledon this year, her parents Michael and Carole were present on day four of the tournament.

Carole wore a lovely floral summer dress which she teamed with a smart white jacket, adorned with black buttons.

Andy was also interviewed by Sue Barker, who came out of retirement for the monumental occasion. During their chat, Andy was grilled might have in store for their father as he steps into retirement, prompting the tennis legend to tease:

 » Well, they’ve been waking me and my wife up at 5 am for the last eight years, so they’ll continue doing that.

« They were requesting piggybacks the day after my back surgery. They’ve been amazing, that’s something I look forward to, spending more time at home. »

Carole donned a gorgeous floral summer dress which she paired with a chic white jacket, adorned with black buttons. Meanwhile, Michael looked smart wearing a blue shirt, yellow tie and navy blue jacket.
