New year, new me. Another big cliché we say these days, but in Miley Cyrus ‘ case it’s true. In the New Year’s show she did together with her godmother Dolly Parton, Miley became the ultimate muse of the 90s, with a series of appearances that were all based on unique vintage pieces.
Together with the well-known stylist Bradley Kenneth, with whom she has collaborated for many years, they created a series of outfits that showed us another Miley self and focused on the biggest fashion trend, which has even touched Hollywood: vintage hunting .
Kim Kardashion curation vintage outfits looks
After Kim Kardashian , and the entire Kardashian-Jenner family, started curating their looks, selecting items from the rare archives of many top houses, the international star system made a big shift to the precious, vintage pieces that are out there.
And this is of course very good on the one hand for the environment, if we focus on the concept of second hand clothes, while at the same time the younger generations can learn many things about the life and work of great designers of the past.
Miley Cyrus’ 6 vintage looks were a little fashion lesson.
The evening kicked off with the two ladies appearing on stage in two custom Gucci hand-made ensembles in timeless black, to be followed by Miley’s sensational performances.
One of the ensembles on stage comes from the precious archive of the Versace house and the collections edited by Gianni Versace himself , before his unjust death. She paired a multi-printed skirt with a black bra top and matching bolero with balloon sleeves from the 1993 collection.
Her baby pink halter neck dress was also by Versace and 2005, as was the maxi, one shoulder gown . in light peanut and orange color since 2006.
Miley’s next look from Bob Mackie . A total sequined dress, with one shoulder and impressive fringes, which she combined with metallic sandals. We move on to the iconic Tom Ford and the era of Gucci ‘s renaissance , the distant 1996. Miley’s mini dress with velvet and sheer details brought something of the glam of another era.
The rarest piece, however, was the one we saw from the well-known online vintage store, Decades , and it is an Yves Saint Laurent dress from the rive gauche spring/summer collection of 1991.
A black, short dress with spectacular embroidered lace and fuchsia , extravagant wings instead of a sleeve.
A characteristic example of the refined femininity of the great designer. All six of Miley Cyrus’ looks were gorgeous, offering a little free fashion lesson. We thank her!
